bugetalternativet som funkar i Sydney är att hyra båt
"hiring a boat. You can do this at Rose Bay or Balmoral in the Harbour, or from Gonsalves Boatshed at Palm Beach to fish Pittwater. Before I bought my boat, I used to hire boats from there and got some nice fish between their wharf and the shore on the opposite side. If you do go there, ask for one of the fibreglass boats. Much better to flyfish from than the aluminium ones. You can catch a bus from the city to Palm Beach, although it would take more than 1 hour to get there."
"in the back of Rose Bay (south end) there are some sandflats and deeper channels - quite good for flathead and bream. Sometimes various pelagics cruise the deeper water just off the flats looking for stray baitfish - so keep looking for any surface action. The eastern shore or Rose Bay can get hectic with frigate mackerel activity when they come in - conditions are right at the moment.
Your main target should be the channel markers and especially the two big white ones called wedding cakes which you can see on either side of the harbour east of the entrance to Rose Bay. At the wedding cakes you can anchor up at casting distance, if possible get a bit of berley (chum) going, and be patient. Fish deep with large clousers. The kingfish come and go from these places at various times of the day - so just keep at it and watch if any other boats in the area suddenly start catching fish
